The Diamondbacks beat the Brewers behind Doug Davis’ quality start, 6-3. The hot bat was wielded by Mark Reynolds, who drove in three, including a solo homer.
But catcher Chris Snyder got his bell rung by a foul ball and had to be replaced by Miguel Montero.
And Disaster: Eric Byrnes strained (read: tore) his left [...]

I take the weekend off from baseball to attend a seminar and come back to find out the bullpen blew Dan Haren’s beautiful start. Not Qualls this time, Pena and Lyon. D’Backs bullpen: Equal Opportunity Start Blowers. For the time being, at least.
The curse of the modern age. Starters today generally don’t have the [...]

Chad Qualls seems to be blowing the hold every time I look at him. Maybe that’s just my perspective. And my work schedule does not allow me to watch every game. But he doesn’t seem to be too reliable lately.
Yesterday, the Red Sox scored 4 runs in the 8th inning, costing the D’Backs a [...]

Eric Byrnes is off the disabled list!!!!
Yeah, I know. He went 0-5 batting leadoff, struck out with the bases loaded, and left a runner on third another time. But he hit two deep fly balls. and another not so deep. Getting the ball out of the infield is good, especially when Josh Beckett is pitching. [...]

If everything goes right the rest of the week, Eric Byrnes will do some minor league rehab this weekend and then will be re-activated for Monday’s game vs, the Red Sox at Fenway.
EB reports running full out without pain and if that holds up, he just needs to see some live pitching under [...]

The latest from Diamondbacks GM Josh Byrnes is that leftfielder Eric Byrnes is still 5 to 10 days away from coming off the disabled list and will probably play a few minor league games before re-appearing in the D’Backs lineup.
Byrnesie was on Live Video last Friday morning and he said his teammates are ribbing him [...]

C’mon, guys! Even if one wants to say that, over-all, the American League is stronger and has traditionally done better in Interleague play, this is ridiculous! The KC Royals are in last place in the AL Central. They got to .400 by beating you 2 of 3.
Yeah, you are still in first place, and [...]

Chad Tracy just hit a walk-off homer in the 10th inning to lead the D’Backs over the Royals 1-0. This, no doubt, makes Chad who recently returned from a lengthy stay on the disabled list owing to knee surgery and post-operative complications, really feel as if he is back with the team.
The winning pitcher [...]

Eligible to come off DL, outfielder still not running at full speed
By Steve Gilbert / MLB.com
NEW YORK — Eric Byrnes is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, but don’t count on seeing the D-backs outfielder in the lineup, at least for the next few days. “He will not come [...]

on your 600th career home run!
Junior joined a very elite group of hitters (Sosa, Mays, Ruth, Aaron and Bonds) in his first at bat in Dolphins Stadium, where the Reds eventually prevailed over the Marlins 9-4. He hit a 3-1 curveball off Mark Hendrickson. It looked like maybe 200 people were at the park, [...]
