Fingers, Toes and Eyes Crossed!
If everything goes right the rest of the week, Eric Byrnes will do some minor league rehab this weekend and then will be re-activated for Monday’s game vs, the Red Sox at Fenway.
EB reports running full out without pain and if that holds up, he just needs to see some live pitching under game conditions.
Needless to say Byrnesie is delighted to see the light at the end of the tunnel and so am I!!
Now, Byrnesie, you’ll be so happy to be playing again that you might be tempted to swing at anything and everything. But remember that you can’t steal first, so swing at the strikes and take the balls. Walks are good. They add to the OBP and get into pitchers’ heads. When you were hitting well early this season you were also walking. No mere coincidence! Make those pitchers offer you something good. Then swing at that good pitch and hit it where they ain’t!
Countin’ the days.

Hurry back, Eric. The team just cannot play worth a darn without you. You are the Sparkplug.
June 18th, 2008 at 2:24 pmAmazing, isn’t it? Even batting .219 he was still hitting better than his replacements combined until they put Conor Jackson out there once Tracy came back. And it seems that if he is not there to run the other guys don’t do it. And the other day CoJack tried to make a diving catch and he looked terrible doing it and he missed the ball.
Let’s hope he has a great an injury free rest of 2008!
June 18th, 2008 at 9:02 pmTHE STACHE MUST GO. It is wrong, so very wrong, it is as wrong as The Big Eunuch’s mullet.
June 20th, 2008 at 2:40 pmIt looked kinda dark this morning. One wonders whether he used baseball lampblack or Tarah’s mascara on it.
